W. B. Sims

Most musicians fall in love with music and then move to Nashville, but W. B. Sims is not most musicians. W. B. moved to Nashville in 2018 to attend a prestigious music school, Belmont University, to study… political science. In Nashville, he was surrounded by amazing musicians and songwriters and felt a curiosity to explore the world of country music. He first did this by changing his major to Music Business with the idea of becoming an entertainment lawyer, but when faced with a choice between an “artistic endeavor” and a 10,000-page research project, he decided he could fake being a country singer enough to complete the program. In 2020, he got his first guitar and wrote his first song during quarantine, igniting a passion that has lived long after graduating from Belmont University.

Since then, W. B. Sims has released eleven songs (with a twelfth on the way!), performed for thousands of people, played for companies such as Bud Light and ESPN, opened for Grammy-winning artists, and connected with so many people through music.

W. B. is as versatile a songwriter and performer as the genre of country music itself, with songs for sitting on your back porch, buddy’s boat, or a bar stool. He pulls inspiration from the greats, such as Hank Jr., Randy Travis, Waylon Jennings, and Jimmy Buffett, who were not afraid to write and sing about the highs and the lows of the human experience.

Nowadays, you can usually find W. B. tearing up the Gulf Coast, playing at legendary venues such as the Hangout and the Flora-Bama.
